Laphroaig ist eine der berühmten Islay-Destillen und gilt als der aromareichste Malt Whisky. Die Destille wurde 1810 gegründet, der Whisky erhält seinen Charakter durch die Lage direkt am Meer. Dieses Bourbon Fass hat uns durch seine Eleganz und Reife überzeugt! Dieser Laphroaig gefällt sofort and der Nase! Im Duft zeigt er jede Menge reife, exotische Früchte, Vanille, medizinischer Rauch und Torf – komplex, sehr elegant und lecker! Im Mund erfolgt ein elegant-fruchtiger Antritt mit schöner vanilliger Süße, dann jede Menge Medizin, Rauch und Torf - maritim und lecker! Das Finish ist lang und wärmend, alle Aromen kommen immer wieder, Rauch und Torf bleiben wunderbar eingebunden - ein super-eleganter Laphroaig! Das Frontlabel schmückt ein Aquarell von Kunstmaler Horst Manthée (Hotte). Es zeigt eine aktuelle Ansicht der Laphroaig Distillery, die es als handsignierten Druck in DIN A4 für 15 Euro gibt! this one is somewhere inbetween all the other ones. A tad softer,
probably rather more buttery/butyric as well, but also even more whiffs
of wet dogs (one day I'll be in trouble...), wet clothes, maybe a
little more camphor and just as many olives and as much brine as with
the OB. It's actually a tad more dirty-ish than the others but that's
probably an asset here. Great nose. Mouth: very close to the OB. Easy
to drink yet very salty. Maybe a little more resinous notes but we're
really into ultra-details now. Finish: long, very salty and very ashy.
Touches of almond oil and grapefruits. Maybe even tangerines. Comments:
same quality as the others, that is to say a very high one. But
warning, at 47%, it goes down like Bode Miller. Dangerous! SGP:467 - 91
