Ardmore 20 Jahre 1992 Whisky-Doris

Ardmore wurde 1898 gegründet und produziert einen stark getorften Malt Whisky. Die Destille liegt in der Speyside and der Grenze zu den Highlands und ist bei Blendern sehr beliebt. Dieses Bourbon Barrel ist bereits unser dritter Ardmore und hat uns durch seine Eleganz und Komplexität überzeugt!

An der Nase zeigt dieser Ardmore süße, exotische Früchte, Honig, Gewürze und das alles umhüllt von Rauch und Torf - super elegant und super lecker! Der Antritt im Mund efolgt zunächst mit süßem Rauch und Torf, dann folgen tolle Fruchtaromen, exotische Gewürze (Ingwer, Pfeffer), Vanille und Honig, vielschichtig, komplex, lecker! Im Finish bleibt ein rauchig-würziger Fruchtkompott, sehr lang und wärmend - ein toller Ardmore!

Tipp: auch dieser Abfüllung sollten Sie einige Zeit zum Atmen geben, damit sich alle Aromen zeigen können - es lohnt sich! Dieser leckere Ardmore ist nicht mehr verfügbar. Das Frontlabel schmückt ein Aquarell von Kunstmaler Horst Manthée (Hotte). Es zeigt eine ältere Ansicht der Ardmore Distillery.

Ardmore 20 yo 1992/2012 (49.5%, Whisky-Doris, bourbon barrel, cask #4768, 134 bottles)   Colour: white wine. Nose: less Ardmore than other Ardmores, I’d say, mainly for the fact that there’s less garden fruits and rather more wet clothes, soaked grains and grass than usual. Having said that, it remains as peaty as Ardmore can be (although I noticed that aficionados always tend to forget Ardmore when they list traditionally peated malt whiskies) and the whiffs of coal smoke and soot never stop growing. I get greengages after quite a few minutes, though. Maybe white peaches too. Mouth: a big, classic Ardmore now, with this unusually sweet peatiness. A lot of green spices too (green cardamom, fresh peppercorn) and then more and more green – or cider – apples. At the sweet fruit department, we’ll find melons as well as strawberries and oranges. Never stops improving, give it time! Finish: long, very zesty, on peated lemons. And why not? Comments: I felt a bit lukewarm at first sniffs and sips but then it really unfolded while remaining fresh and greatly sharp. Top notch Ardmore. SGP:556 - 89 points.
